Roping in the Wind
Today was the windiest day I've seen this Spring and I had the pleasure of photographing a senior in Edmonson roping in his outdoor arena. I can still taste the dirt, but it was really a great session. I will never cease to be impressed by the cooperation of horse and man in a sport like this. Between the two participants, it is hard to tell who enjoys it more...I can't speak for the target, but the calves seem to get over it quickly. Drew took several runs with me standing a few yards away, down wind. Freezing the action in the photos here looks completely different from the blur that flew by me while clicking the shutter, not to mention the dirt in my eyes. Thanks for the opportunity to have this adventure today.
