High School Senior Commercial
video
Thanks to the seniors who volunteered to help with our commercial on this freezing day. We did about ten takes of them walking outside without their coats on, and it had to be in the mid to high 30s that morning. The TV crew was very complimentary of how well-mannered the kids were.

South Plains Boy Scouts of America Banquet
I was fortunate enough to be asked by a friend of mine to photograph the Boy Scout banquet this year as the BSA celebrates its 100th anniversary. The Keynote speaker was Jim Lovell, the famous Apollo 13 astronaut you may have heard of before from the movie Apollo 13.
In attendance for the event were also several local and state politicians. It was exciting to be apart of the event and Mr Lovell was an amazingly sharp speaker.

Pinup Calendar Shoot
Thanks to everyone who helped out with our calendar shoot. Our pinup girls: Kippin, Holly, Julia, and Audry. Thanks to Marilee and Kaitlyn for doing the hair and makeup and Laurie for helping us keep everything together! I have lots of photos to go through. We went to the TV station today to help edit the footage and photos together. The commercial should be running soon on KMAC and KLBK. Here are a few behind-the-scenes shots. I will have finished photos to show off soon. Be sure to let us know if you are interested in purchasing a calendar. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Antique Photographs

I was inspired by a few old photographs I saw hanging in a friend's house recently. The shallow
depth of field and faded, warm sepia-toned look of the photos was terrific. I thought that maybe I could reproduce the look with a photo I took. So I got a great model, Alisyn, who is the daughter of some good friends of ours. Kaetlyn, her mother, did her hair in a vintage style and I had a classic dress in our costume closet. With a bunch of tweaking and adjusting in Photoshop and Lightroom, I came up with a look that I think is very close to the feel of a real antique photo. It was lots of fun and if i can find a way to to reproduce the effect without taking hours on each photo, I think it would be neat to offer a Limited Edition special with this look.

Dear Edwina

Juliet Porformed in her first musical with Hub Performing Arts School. The musical was at the beautiful Vintage Township in Lubbock. We were very impressed that she had a solo, being so young. Pictured here, she wore a poodle skirt and sang about manners! Thanks to everyone who attended. I have included a few of the highlights here. You can see many more on our website at www.sinklierstudios.com and click on your photos.

Tic Tac Toe

We call this 9-image panel a Tic Tac Toe for obvious reasons and it is a fun way to display several images to tell a story. I made this one for Jacob's 5th birthday session in our Children's Club. He has been coming to us every year, and every year his uncle carves another number for his age. Last year he picked out everyhting he was going to wear and we took them at the studio. He wore a dress shirt, slacks and a tie! He has been spending a lot more time with his dad on the tractor this past year so he was very excited about all of the farm equipment. he gave me quite a lesson on the entire process of farming cotton and sand fighting!

We spent Saturday painting at the church with a bunch of other volunteers. The kids were dying to paint and Juliet got a special "Juliet-sized brush" to paint with. Jill and I love to paint, so it was a lot of fun to us.

Jill's 20th Class Reunion

Over Memorial Day weekend, Jill's class got together in her hometown of Memphis, Texas for their 20th reunion.  The group was a little less rowdy this time compared to the 10th reunion. I think it was because the Andys weren't there (you know who you are).
